Welcome to my shop

Bussotti guitars: I grew up playing guitar in the 1970's and switched to classical guitar in the late 1980's. Shortly there after and with a new guitar teacher, I became interested in finger-style guitars. At a music store one day I saw a book about building guitars (Guitar Making, Tradition and Technology. Around the same time period, I was at a Block Buster video store and rented a movie, "The Red Violin". The rest is history. I have been building guitars, only classical and fingerstyle (nylon) since 1998 but was already a wood worker since my youth. I usually re-saw the guitar backs, sides and soundboards from the solid lumber that has been aged for a long time: I stick to traditional woods. Tops (soundboards) are either Sitka Spruce or Wester Red Cedar. The backs and sides are all book-matched from Cocobolo, Brazilian Rosewood, Honduran Mahogany or Flame Maple. Neck timber is both, quarter sawn mahogany and Spanish Cedar and are laminated for strength which avails the guitars to always be used with high tension strings, which are either Savarez or Augustine.
